Release date: 06/11/2026 Label: D.A.P.

At a time when dance music can feel increasingly atomised, Hype Society is a reminder that club culture has always thrived in collectives. Headed up by East London’s Dantae The Kid, this multinational, ever-evolving collective is crafting a soulful, sweet-toned sound that speaks to the roots of dancefloor culture while looking firmly to its future. Case in point: “Higher”, a shimmering filter house romp with echoes of Daft Punk, Junior Jack and Modjo.

“Higher (Vocal) features guest vocals from Jess Foley, a vocal powerhouse who has conquered the West End, playing the lead in Burlesque in 2025 and now leading the charge in Les Miserable currently running at the Sondheim theatre in 2026, and has just been nominated for ‘Best Performer In A Musical’ by STAGE magazine.

For Hype Society founder Dantae the Kid, music isn’t just passion - it’s bloodline. Raised in a home saturated with song, his earliest memories are of crate-digging through his father’s vinyl collection, inherited in spirit from his auntie, Motown legend Gloria Jones, the singer of “Tainted Love”. “It was my childhood,” he says. “I’d stare at the inlays, obsessing over the names, the people behind the records.”

Dantae caught the eye of Tinie Tempah from early then working alongside Teddy Riley and penning hits for K-Pop group EXO (“Call Me Baby”). He paired up with EDM superstars like Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike and Timmy Trumpet (the former are a two-time DJ Mag Top 100 #1, while the latter is currently placed #5 in the same influential poll).

Hype Society is a fluid collective unified by a shared ethos: put out real, honest music, “from a place of truth,” as Dantae the Kid puts it. ‘High-energy tracks that are club-facing but rooted in the foundations of strong songwriting. “If Gloria Gaynor or Donna Summer wouldn’t have sung on it, I don’t want it,” he asserts. Mixing the uncompromising energy of LF System, the community-mindedness of Rudimental and the pain-into-passion complexity of classic soul, funnelled through a system that still worships sub-bass and sweat-soaked dancefloors.
