International dance music icon Kristine W is back on the dancefloor with "Music's Gonna Save Us," the second single from her celebrated new album Dance with Me, available now via The Orchard. The release builds on the momentum of "Next to You," the album’s lead single that has emerged as one of the songs of summer 2026 — climbing to #3 on the Music Week Charts in Europe, landing in the top five on multiple other charts, setting streaming records for Kristine W, and making noise at radio across the globe.
Where "Next to You" was born from the longing of isolation, "Music's Gonna Save Us" is an open invitation to come back together. This song encourages everyone to come out and dance, connect, and celebrate life," says Kristine W, a defining voice in dance music for nearly three decades and the holder of 17 Billboard #1 dance hits. "The global music community is vast, diverse, inspiring, and beautiful. There is a style of music for everyone — it's readily accessible, and it is a great healer."
For Kristine W, the song's title and message are deeply personal, rooted in a family history shaped by music. "Music has saved my family for centuries," she says. "I come from a long line of German and Swedish musicians — guitar players, piano players, pipe organists, violinists, horn players, drummers. It's endless." Her parents met and fell in love through music, performing together as The Humdingers. After her father passed away at 32 from leukemia, music carried the family through. "Music saved my Mom from losing her four kids to child services," Kristine W recalls. Her mother, who held four bachelor's degrees but was passed over for jobs in favor of men, built a career as a strolling singer-guitarist to make ends meet. "Music saved us in the church, too," Kristine W adds. "My siblings and I were all in the church junior choir, and the support of that community saw us through some difficult times."
Written with Grammy Award-winning producer Tracy Young, the song carries that legacy into its central message: that everyone can find community through music. It can see people through their toughest times and help them celebrate the best of times, serving as a kind of time capsule for life. With the click of a button, or the turn of a knob, a person can be transported back to a magical memory.
That reflects relationships Kristine W has built over years in the studio. "I have been working with Soul Seekerz for over 15 years, so they are part of my production family," she explains. "Tracy Young and I go way back as well." She calls every mix on the release epic, with each DJ and producer delivering above and beyond what she imagined.
The song's title is a phrase Kristine W has lived by for years. "It's a phrase I have said so many times to myself and to others, so to finally have the song out there for all to enjoy is incredible," she says.
And she wants fans singing along from the first listen. "The chorus was written specifically for everyone to sing out loud with one another," she says. "It's great medicine. Can't wait for you all to sing and dance with me."
"Music's Gonna Save Us" is available now on all streaming platforms..
