Sydney based DJ Young Franco returns with ‘Pull Up’, a genre-blending club track built around a sample of Pino D’Angiò’s 1980 Italian disco classic ‘Ma Quale Idea’ and released via MDLBEAST Records / Resound Records.

‘Ma Quale Idea’ sold over two million copies upon its release and climbed to number two on the Dutch charts, cementing D’Angiò as one of the defining voices of European club music in the early 1980s.

Young Franco doesn’t merely sample it; he rebuilds it from the ground up, keeping D’Angiò’s signature flair intact while steering it firmly into the present.

The result is a funky, UK garage-influenced anthem driven by punchy kicks and a guitar riff that anchors the whole record.

It moves fast, but Young Franco and his collaborators hold their ground within it. Scrufizzer, the West London MC whose career dates back to the early 2000s and who notably opened for Kendrick Lamar on tour in 2013.
