Legendary Denise Van Outen is back with a fresh take on the Sheryl Lee Ralph "In The Evening"

Music and entertainment icon Denise Van Outen returns to music this week with the release of her storming new single 'In The Evening'.

The Nu-Disco track is an electrifying cover of the Sheryl Lee Ralph 1984 hit single that is sure to set dancefloors alight this Summer.

To celebrate the release, this Friday Denise will return to her breakfast roots to co-host 'The Gaydio Big Breakfast' on radio station Gaydio alongside presenter Dave Cooper.

Broadcast live from 7am–10am, the show is a playful nod to Denise’s iconic presenting role on Channel 4’s legendary The Big Breakfast, and it comes almost 30 years since her very first appearance on the show. Denise made her debut on the programme on 2 September 1996 and quickly became a central figure, stepping into a main presenting role in early 1997 and going on to form a memorable partnership with Johnny Vaughan during one of the show’s most popular periods.

On Gaydio, she’ll reunite with the breakfast format that helped define her career, bringing her experience and personality to a fresh audience. There  will be an exclusive first play of 'In The Evening' and celebrity guest appearances throughout three hours of feel-good breakfast radio.

Denise says: “It’s no secret how much I love The Big Breakfast, so I’m thrilled to be co-hosting the Gaydio breakfast show alongside Dave. Expect old school big brekkie antics and the first exclusive radio play of my new single ‘In The Evening’ ahead of this year’s Pride season. This is one breakfast you won’t want to skip.” 

Dave Cooper added: "Denise is the perfect person for this! She’s breakfast TV royalty, she’s had an incredible career across both stage and screen, and she’s always had such a genuine, longstanding connection with the LGBTQ+ community. We’re leaning fully into the madness with her… big energy, big nostalgia and absolutely no idea what’s going to happen next. Exactly how breakfast should be.”

Denise is no stranger to disco, finding huge success as a disco DJ. Her sets have taken her round the globe, with a residency at the worlds biggest club in Ibiza [UNVRS] and festivals such as Glastobury and the Isle of Wight.
