Cat Burns .... 'There's Just Something About Her'
Sunday 26th October 2025
Release date: Out now Label: RCA
Multi-BRIT and 2024 Mercury Prize nominee Cat Burns prepares to unveil her forthcoming body of work, ‘How to be Human’, set for release Friday 31st October.
A year on from her greatly received top ten debut album ‘early twenties’, Cat returns with her most personal and introspective project to date. Spanning 16 tracks including recent singles ‘All This Love’ and sapphic anthem ‘GIRLS!’, the record channels her inner thoughts, navigating vulnerability, growth and love to deliver a powerful body of work that will resonate deeply with fans.
Written entirely by Cat, each song captures her raw authenticity and gift for storytelling, blending affirmations, personal reflections and voice notes that bring listeners closer than ever before. Demonstrating her full artistry, Cat also directed the visual concept for the album artwork, brought to life by photographer Sebastian Xavier.
Speaking on the album, Cat said:
“How to be human is about the last year of my life. I experienced the death of a loved one and my first relationship heartbreak at the same time and genuinely had no idea how I would get through the situation. Making this album was my introspective and neurodivergent way of navigating heartbreak and the loss of my Grandad who I was extremely close to - it’s my comfort album.
While making it I realised how many people it could help, I know there are so many people going through similar struggles. I hope it provides them some comfort too and shows how you can pick yourself back up.”
Bringing ‘How to be Human’ to the stage, Cat will embark on a seven-date UK headline tour this November, presenting her most recent project plus fan favourites. The album and tour announcement comes ahead of Cat’s upcoming appearance at this weekend’s All Points East (Saturday 23rd August), where she will join a mighty all-female line-up alongside acclaimed favourites Raye, JADE, and Tyla.
