Release date: Out now Label: B1 / Ministry Of Sound
Clean Bandit are back and have entered a bold new era as masters of their own destiny. The Grammy Award winning London trio – Grace Chatto, Jack Patterson, and Luke Patterson – are gearing up to release ‘Tell Me Where U Go’ - a trance-inspired club banger that is sure to resolidify Clean Bandit’s place in UK dance music - set to be released 25th April via B1/Ministry of Sound.
"We can't wait for our fans to hear that song," Grace teases. “‘Tell Me Where U Go’ is our new genre. It’s called Classical Djembe Trance. We recorded our dear friend Leony in Berlin and finally collaborated with our guy Tiesto.” The track was written by Jack following a therapy session that inspired the title; he says, “My therapist said I dissociate sometimes. She said to me, “tell me where you go”. After the session I went to the studio, and we made this song. I wrote it with my new best friend Jason Gill and lyrical geniuses Cleo Tighe and Jake Torrey.” Original band member Neil Amin-Smith, who left in 2016, plays violin on the song with Grace on the cello.
Last year Clean Bandit teamed up with Anne-Marie once again, who previously featured on their iconic hit ‘Rockabye’ with Sean Paul. ‘Rockabye’ was the UK’s Christmas number one on its year of release and has now amassed more than 1.6 billion Spotify streams and over 3 billion views on YouTube. Their second big song together is 2024’s hit, ‘Cry Baby’, which saw Clean Bandit collaborate for the first time with David Guetta.
Clean Bandit have given us a succession of era-defining anthems, including 4 number 1 UK singles and ten top tens. In 2024, ‘Rather Be’ and ‘Symphony’ have newly catapulted back into the spotlight as TikTok hits, the former reimagined with 18-year-old rapper LeoStayTrill and performed at the MOBOs, while the latter stood at number 1 in the TikTok chart for several weeks. In 2023, the trio received a rare BRIT Billion Award in recognition of one billion UK streams. It takes pride of place in their London studio alongside the two Ivor Novellos and Grammy Award. In 2024, they joined an exclusive club of UK bands – made up of only Arctic Monkeys, Coldplay, One Direction, and Queen - after obtaining over a billion Spotify streams on four songs (‘Solo’, ‘Rather Be’, ‘Rockabye’, and ‘Symphony’).
