Check out the brand new single from The Ramona Flowers - California with hot Gerd Janson

Saturday 14th May 2022

Celebrated Bristol-based quartet The Ramona Flowers release their new single “California”

Marking the band’s first official release of the year, “California” is another up-tempo anthem, set to be the sound of summer. It’s the only “C” word you’ll need this year as 2022 will be the first Covid free summer for 3 years – since 2019 – obviously Covid being the “C” word we don’t want to hear!

Lead vocalist Steve Bird says “California is a song about self-development, making a positive change to be a better version of you, for yourself and others. It’s about making a family and being an eternal optimist in the face of adversity”. On a deeper level Steve continues

“This song is also about a very real worry of conceiving a child and the impact of that as a man if you can’t deliver that for the person you love”

After support slots with Bastille, Stereophonics and U2 - plus a sell-out show at OSLO last autumn - the band are soon to announce their headline show at OMEARA on June 21st – a midsummer extravaganza! Look out for several festival slots to be announced shortly too.

“California” will be supported with an incredible Oliver Nelson Remix – out June – plus an acoustic version, lyric and performance videos and more remixes.  There is a “Get Festival Ready” Influencer Campaign using “California” as the sound bed for getting in the Festival mood. This started with Coachella and will run for two weeks with over 10 million impressions.

The band’s previous single “Up All night” – which featured Nile Rodgers – has just become their biggest streaming song ever. Their combined streams have now passed the ONE MILLION mark!

“California” will be THE song of your summer and The Ramona Flowers the sound of YOUR year!
