Amanda Rake is The Master Of Our Hearts

Amanda Rakel is a Danish-Swedish singer-songwriter with a flair for pop-edm. 

Amanda’s mother always sang with her, her older sister and younger brother. When driving the kids to and from school the likes of ABBA, Phil Collins, Bryan Adams, and Michael Jackson would be sung along to. Amanda’s second car accident came at the age of four and is attributed to headbanging to Michael Jackson’s Earth Song on the backseat of the car…she had unbuckled her seatbelt so when her mum hit the brakes, Amanda proceeded to fly headfirst into the radio. She thankfully escaped with just a bloody nose. 

Amanda was born in Germany before the family settled in Switzerland. Here, Amanda and her siblings attended an international school with a comprehensive musical program. All three kids auditioned for the choir and were accepted. The school also had a weekly Friday program for middle schoolers (at the time the school didn’t have a high school) where kids played instruments. Amanda played piano outside of school and in the music program she tried the cello and guitar but didn’t take a liking to any. It would be years before she realized her talent lay in writing lyrics and singing.
