45 Riots switch gears to Automatic

Monday 7th February 2022
"Automatic," the hit single by 45 Riots (feat. Day Kornegay), originally released in the summer of 2019 and hitting #30 on the US Billboard Adult R&B charts by the close of the same year, receives a fresh make-over by UK's iconic DJ Liam Keegan.
"Automatic" is unique in many ways. The original single, executive produced and co-written by R&B / hip-hop industry veteran producer Rick Steel (French Montana, Chinx, Murder Inc. Records, etc.), features a live band recording together in the studio - something rare these days - and boasts a funky throwback "New Jack Swing" groove in the rhythm section with a four-piece horn section blazing on top. The lyrics relate the story of a woman on the go and the man pursuing her across the globe, destination to destination. It's a fun, light-hearted song with a killing band in 45 Riots. Another item to note: 45 Riots (based in NYC) is not only the band and main artist of the single but also the independent record label which released "Automatic" along with the EP album on which it appears, "Timeless" (January 2020).
DJ Liam Keegan's compelling rendition of "Automatic" brings the fun and funk of the original straight to the dance floor with his energetic remix. He truly captures the heart and soul of the live-band recording whilst blending the modern production, dance beat, and tempo needed to have DJ's rocking this hit in clubs across continents, following the very lyrics of the song.
