Release date: Out now Label: BMG
Fresh from scoring their third #2 album in four years, Steps have announced that their next radio single will be The Slightest Touch.
The track is a brilliant and euphoric cover of the Five Star classic and can be streamed/downloaded here. Steps were delighted to put their own spin on one of their favourite songs by one of their all-time biggest inspirations.
Speaking of the single and their recent successes, Steps commented: “We’ve been so overwhelmed by the reaction to ‘What The Future Holds Pt 2’ so far. Hitting #2 on the UK album chat for the third time in recent years is such a proud achievement and it’s all thanks to our incredible fans. It’s also down to them really that ‘The Slightest Touch’ is our next radio single – the feedback to that song has been overwhelming since everyone first heard it, so we HAD to release it officially! Glad everyone is loving Five Star as much as we do – and it’s been wonderful to get the original band’s seal of approval on our version too”.
Steps released What The Future Holds Pt.2 earlier this month and after a fierce, close chart battle they ended the week at #2. The album was Radio 2’s album of the week and has generated two A-List singles so far including ‘Take Me For A Ride’ and ‘Heartbreak In This City’ featuring Emmy winning guest star Michelle Visage. Spanning 15 tracks, the album included 10 brand-new unheard songs and special stripped-back acoustic versions of previous singles. Stream/download the new album here.
The five-piece will also be heading on their sure-to-be epic What The Future Holds Tour in November, headlining 18 arena shows across the UK including two dates at London’s The O2 and will be joined by the brilliant Sophie Ellis-Bextor as a special guest.
