Britain’s best kept musical secret Riva Taylor is back with her latest single ‘Jealous’ which is set for worldwide release on 6th March 2020, an emotive track which showcases the depth of Riva’s rich vocals and unique sound. “Jealous feels like my boldest statement yet and a defining track to support the launch of the first half of my album, exploring the darker elements of This Woman’s Heart, says Riva.

Recorded in Stockholm with Swedish writers Yaya and Peta Jeffress, Riva states the single “comes from a place of vulnerability and honesty”. Jealous follows a string of critically acclaimed hits for Riva including Running at Walls and Raining Tears, written with long term collaborators Jamie Hartman and James Walsh. Riva says she “grappled with the title initially. Jealousy is an emotion I hadn’t had much experience of in life and had always been warned off, but the title felt absolutely right for the sentiment of this song, which is all about struggling to get over someone who is over you. Feeling an envy and admiration in their strength at being able to move on - it’s about being trapped in a past you want to desperately escape.”

2019 held a string of highlights for Riva, from performing alongside her childhood hero Barbra Streisand at London’s British Summer Time Festival, to being selected as a featured track on Elton John’s Apple Music Beats 1 show. The Rocketman told listeners he 'loved it'. 2020 is set to be even bigger for the songstress with the release of the first part of her album, This Woman’s Heart in the spring, featuring her signature vocal-driven power pop, influenced by soulful female icons like Annie Lennox, Kate Bush and Adele. The London-born singer was signed to her first major label aged 12, becoming the youngest artist ever to secure a record deal with EMI.

This whirlwind journey thrust her into global stardom, seeing her perform to HRH Prince Charles, at the FA Cup Final, the BAFTAs and on TV shows worldwide. R&B star Usher was blown away by her ‘great voice’. Riva is also an advocate for emerging female talent in the arts. Her two-years running sell-out Writing Round series at London’s Roundhouse, a songwriter’s circle in collaboration with Nashville songwriter Jeff Cohen, led to the launch of TWH in 2020 - a community that supports and connects women in the arts. The first series of TWH exhibitions and events will launch this spring
