Adding to their accolade of smash releases and stellar remixes, British DJ and Producer trio Black Saint team up with South London’s Kelli-Leigh to kick-start summer 2018 with their collaborative track ‘Don’t Wreck My Holiday’.
The unflinching track features vocalist Kelli-Leigh who is no stranger to global anthems, having contributed her powerhouse vocals to hits such as Duke Dumont's ‘I Got U’ and Second City's ‘I Wanna Feel’. ‘Don’t Wreck My Holiday’ showcases Black Saint’s distinctive sonic alchemy and expansion to new heights, interweaving pulsing synths and vibrant melodies.
Honing-in on their effortless ability to blend sounds and influences from across the globe, Kelli-Leigh adds a dynamic to the single that makes the track stand out immediately. ‘Don’t Wreck My Holiday’ is another big step for Black Saint along their ascension to the top of the international dance arena that will spread their genuine voice and influence to ensure it will resonate among music fans across the globe.
The decision to collaborate with Kelli-Leigh was a fairly organic one; “We had worked with Keli previously and it was just a matter of time before we did something together for Black Saint” Justin explains. “She’s got that iconic voice that is instantly recognizable on its own, which is rare these days and perfect for this track”.
On the inspiration behind the single Jermaine says: “It’s about picking your moments in life ... and knowing when to just chill on your emotions for the good of someone else. On the flip side- it’s about not being afraid to disconnect from the world and enjoy the moment, for the good of yourself!”
Storming onto the international music landscape in 2016 with #1 UK Dance hit ‘Could You Love Me’, the trio have ascended quickly, with plaudits from publications such as Complex, Wonderland, Earmilk, MTV, V Magazine, Milk, and Clash amongst many others. The collective has also amassed over 15 million Spotify streams on their first three singles alone, a testament to their dynamic approach in a constantly evolving industry.
Black Saint’s outright resistance of the ‘Superstar DJ’ persona has allowed them to forge their own path within the multi-faceted sphere of dance music culture. Through this simplistic approach they have managed to stay true to themselves and their African and Caribbean influences that have driven their success.
The trio have previously executed projects that saw them add their own twist on tracks by some of the biggest artists in the world including Dua Lipa’s ‘Blow Your Mind’ and most recently Taya’s ‘When Your Sober.’ Their live show is one not to be missed either, having spent the last 12 months performing in front of some of their biggest audiences to date, including a string of sold-out UK shows, an electric performance at Notting Hill Carnival, various European dates and the launch of their own ‘Sainthood’ party brand.
A brilliant mix of contradictions, Black Saint are the tech-obsessed musos who are controlling the future of pop-lead dance music one banger at a time. Get ready; things are only just getting started!
