KAMILLE RETURNS WITH HER NEW TRACK ‘EMOTIONAL’
FEATURING KRANIUM & LOUIS REI FROM WSTRN
Rising star Kamille releases her new single ‘Emotional’ featuring Kranium and WSTRN’s Louis Rei. The sultry yet energetic track was premiered by DJ Target (1Xtra) as his ‘Targo Embargo’. ‘Emotional’ has all the makings of a summer anthem as it entrances you with its rhythmic production and vibrant energy. Kamille, Kranium and Louis Rei all bring their distinctive sounds and harmonise them perfectly with one another resulting in an alluring and truly unforgettable collaboration.
‘Emotional’ comes as a follow up to Kamille’s first single ‘Body’ as well as her debut EP ‘My Head’s A Mess’ which took listeners on a journey from love and loss to a naturally confident rebirth. With ‘Emotional’, Kamille positions herself yet again as an exciting and multi-faceted talent for this year.
"Emotional is such an important record for me because it represents my Caribbean heritage, it’s a piece of who I am. I had so much fun making this song with my friends - Shakka, Ghosted, and my boy ADP on the mix. I’m so honoured to have Kranium, my fellow Jamaican, as well as Louis from WSTRN feature on it. In three words, Emotional is playful, sexual, and fun...it’s about that point when the desire two people have for each other can get too much to handle..." speaks Kamille.
Artist Kamille is an exciting new member of the Virgin EMI family, her work leading up to the beginning of a solo career as an artist has dominated the charts for the last few years. Penning #1 hits for Little Mix (Black Magic, Shout Out To My Ex) Kamille is one of the most sought after songwriters in the UK. Most recently, Kamille co wrote Jess Glynne’s ‘I’ll Be There’ and Clean Bandit’s ‘Solo’ feat. Demi Lovato; both of which sit amongst Top 10 of The Official Charts. She wrote The Script’s hit single ‘Rain’ from their #1 album and wrote and featured on the debut Ghosted single ‘Get Some’ which dominated the Spotify Viral charts on launch including #1 in the US and #2 in the UK.
In addition to this, Kamille has previously worked with MNEK, Roll Deep, Labrinth, Craig David and Jessie Ware to name a few and recently has been collaborating with James Arthur, Stormzy, Zara Larsson, Steel Banglez, Jax Jones and Mabel, Marshmello, Hitboy, Yxng Bane, Timbaland, 2 Chainz, SG Lewis, Disciples, James Ford, Mist, James Hype, Dr Vades, and currently features and co wrote Gorgon City’s ‘Deep’.
Born to a Cuban mother and Jamaican father, Kamille (real name, Camille Purcell) had been immersed in music from a young age. Bashment, reggae, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, the storied catalogues of Motown Records – she was raised on some of music’s greatest songwriters. Neglecting to follow a paint-by-numbers blueprint yet never straying too far from the beaten track, Kamille has the capability to create music that captures distinct emotion in a direct, accessible way. Part of this comes from those early years spent in the church, studying the way sound can convey feeling. Having been hugely successful in her songwriting career, Kamille embarks on a new journey as an artist and without a doubt is one to watch this coming year.
