Mowgli's Road

It's been a crazy couple of months for the 23-year old Welsh/Greek Marina Diamond. After releasing a single and EP ("Obsessions" and "The Crown Jewels EP") through upstart NY indie label Neon Gold Records earlier this year, Marina and the Diamonds is pleased to release her debut single with 679 Records "Mowgli's Road" on November 16th. Originally included on the "Obsessions" single release, Mowgli's has been re-worked for this release with production credits from Liam Howe. From the opening "cuckoo" you're lead into a playfully dark musical landscape that fuses The Jungle Book with Kate Bush. Theatrics and funny voices aside, this song is a pure pop classic that demonstrates Marina's unique lyricism and her mastery of a catchy chorus. Mowgli's Road has been remixed by a whole host of acts/DJs including Mille, Phenomenal Handclap Band and Russ Chimes. Multi-membered pop sensation Gaggle have also recorded their own cover. If you weren't able to catch Marina and the Diamonds at one of the many festival dates she played this summer, fear not as she's been confirmed for the NME Radar Tour 2009 with Golden Silvers, Local Natives and Yes Giantess, which begins on Sept 26th in Oxford and hits 14 other dates across the county. With supporters across Radio 1, Radio 2 and 6Music (Huw Stephens, Rob Da Bank, Zane Lowe, Jo Whiley, Dermot O'Leary, Lauren Laverne, Nemone, Jon Hillcock and John Kennedy) and her live show gaining momentum, 2010 will be a sparkling year for Ms. Diamond.

Mixes come from Russ Chimes, Mille, and PHB - full support!
