Streatham’s star-in-waiting Cat Burns recruits Dutch electronic duo Shermanology to rework fan favourite, ‘Free’ in time for her performance at London Pride this weekend.

Bringing their remarkable energy, Shermanology’s remix of ‘Free’ exhibits their dynamic blend of soulful tech-house. The gospel-laced original, co-written by Jimmy Napes and produced by Aston Rudi, explores the complexities Cat experienced when coming out to her family. The song garnered viral status on TikTok at the end of last year and is the catalyst for the singer/songwriter’s fast-rising trajectory.

Cat recently shared her 6-track emotionally unavailable EP, which includes platinum-selling single ‘go’. A permanent fixture in the Top 5 of the UK Official Singles Chart, Cat recently joined forces with multi-award-winning artist Sam Smith for a mesmerising version of her smash hit.

Continuing to conquer the live circuit this year, Cat will make her debut appearance at London Pride this weekend before supporting Ed Sheeran on the European leg of his Mathematics tour. She will then headline a sold-out show at KOKO on 4th October.

Curaçao-born, Netherlands-based brother-sister duo Shermanology have spent the last five years refining their dynamic blend of soul-infused tech house. Heavily inspired by their Caribbean and Dutch heritage, Shermanology have rubbed shoulders with global dance music’s A-list, releasing productions on revered labels such as Hot Creations and Defected. The brother-sister duo have garnered international acclaim on their 2021 hit, ‘Boyz N Da Club’, and have since collaborated with FISHER and Eats Everything.

A celebration of being yourself, ‘Free’ is the personal soundtrack to many of Cat’s flourishing fanbase. Taking the much-adored original, Shermanology have reimagined ‘Free’ and transformed it into a future club anthem.
