Happier

Release date: TBC Label: Positiva

Today, DJ/producer Marshmello andBastille unveiled the new single‘Happier.’ By turns poignant and exhilarating, ‘Happier’ (Positiva) acknowledges the uncomfortable truth that loving someone sometimes requires we step aside so they can find happiness. Bastille frontman Dan Smith penned the song with Steve Mac (Ed Sheeran, Liam Payne, P!nk).

“We wrote ‘Happier’ last year and thought it would be great as a collaboration,” explains Dan Smith,Bastille’s frontman. “We had a lot of fun working on it with Marshmello, who managed to find joy in the melancholy. It’s always good to step into somebody else’s world for a minute.”

Marshmello is re-defining today’s music industry, one hit after another. With the last year’s worth of chart topping singles featuring collaborations with the likes of Selena Gomez, Khalid, Migos, Logic and more, the artist has clocked a staggering 2+ billion streams across Spotify alone with over 40 million monthly listeners, cementing him as the platform’s #4 Most Streamed Artist in the World.

He continued his global takeover with the summer smash ‘FRIENDS’ with Anne-Marie, which ranked #1 on both iTunes and Shazam’s worldwide charts, with over 500 million overall streams. The single climbed to #4 on the official UK charts, following the top 3 UK smash ‘Silence’ with Khalid. 2017’s ‘Wolves’ ft. Selena Gomez was another top 10 hit for the producer, cementing his position as a hit making machine. With numerous tour dates throughout the US, Marshmello will touch down in the UK for a very special festival exclusive headline performance at London’s South West Four Festival on Saturday 25th August.

Bastille have had a busy summer playing some of the biggest festivals across Europe, headlined MTV’s Ocean City Sounds and Wilderness Festival and playing RiZe festival this coming weekend, finishing with a run of dates across Hong Kong, China and Australia.

The past half-decade has certainly been a whirlwind for the four-piece, who comprise frontman Smith (who is the sole songwriter, and co-produces all the tracks alongside Mark Crew), keyboardist Kyle Simmons, bassist and guitarist Will Farquarson, and drummer Chris Wood. They’ve played over 500 shows across six continents, including their recent, critically acclaimed ReOrchestrated tour, and have amassed 15 million single sales and 6 million album sales globally. Both Bad Blood and its follow-up, ‘Wild World’, reached No.1 in the UK and the top 10 in the US, and their music has been streamed a staggering 3.3 billion times. They’ve not gone without awards recognition either: after winning British Breakthrough Act at the BRITs, they’ve earned Grammy, AMA and MTV Europe Awards nominations.

Positiva Recordsthe iconic dance label behind huge hits from the likes of Fragma, Spiller, and more recently, David Guetta and Martin Solveig, is celebrating 25 years at the summit of dance music in 2018, showcasing their back-catalogue with a series of one-off parties and releases. Having hosted recent nights at Ibiza’s legendary Cafe Mambo, and London’s Ministry of Sound Club, the imprint marked the landmark occasion with two of their tracks (Jonas Blue’s ‘Rise’, and Tiesto’s ‘Jackie Chan’) sitting in the Top #5 of the Official UK Charts[C1] .
