You may already be familiar with Imani William’s incredible voice. Before the age of 18 she has notched millions of streams, had a top 10 single and written records for major artists. She wrote and featured on Sigala’s chart smash ‘Say You Do’ and performed live alongside Tinie Tempah on his track (originally featuring Tinashe) ‘Text From Your Ex’. After some time out recording in the studio penning songs for the likes of Mike Perry and Pixie Lott whilst working on her sound, she is back, ready to heat up our summer with her no bullsh*t single ‘Dumb’ featuring Tiggs Da Author & Belly Squad, out August 17th. Listen to the track here.

Imani’s sexy, smooth summer single samples a rework of 411’s ‘Dumb’ with Show n Prove, Sigala and ADP forming a dream team on production. She said: “Early 2000’s music really influences my sound and I love a beat I can dance to so we fused the two together.”

The song came about after a classic girl chat with co-writer Chiara Hunter. The concept derives from Imani’s “no bullsh*t” attitude when it comes to dating and finding out someone you like is a player. She said the song is “a play on how ‘dumb’ their excuses can be and how ‘dumb’ that person must think you are to believe them.”

Imani was discovered at 14 when her singing teacher introduced her to a music management company. They were so impressed that they signed Imani on the spot and she has since spent her time honing her craft writing with top writers and producers from around the world including dance hit makers Sigala, DJ Fresh, Team Salut, ADP, LongLivThePlug and Invisible Men (Iggy Azalea, Rita Ora and Nicki Minaj). With outstanding vocal talent and a penchant for creating irresistible melodies this West London pop princess is definitely one to watch.
