Mysterious Girl

Release date: TBC Label: Two Six Records

London-based pop duo OMYO have unveiled the mesmeric video for their second single ‘Mysterious Girl’, premiered exclusively via Clash Magazine. The seductive, pulsing track is a self-assured statement of intent, that OMYO are destined to be a hit in clubs and radio alike. The fresh electronic production combined with ambitious visuals (starring model Pauline Ivashevskaya), Mysterious Girl is another determined step up for the independent team, as they continue to ascend to new heights. Mysterious Girlis available now via all regular outlets and to watch on VEVO

Following the success of their previous single ‘Days With You’, which has racked up over 1 million streams, OMYO (comprised of William Edwards and Tom McCorkell) were ready to flex their production credentials, bringing their song writing to a new level. Mysterious Girl  started life as a slow jam, written when the Will and Tom were sofa surfing at the group’s inception. The duo knew its potential as a more up-tempo dance number and worked in conjunction with North London DJ/producer VAHNI, (known for his work with All Saints and Wyclef Jean), to take the track up a notch. The resulting mix was spotted by Accessorizeusing the track for their SS17 Festival Fashion TV Campaign, a placement that recently featured in industry bible Music Week.

Completely independent, OMYO have previously enjoyed support from BBC Radio 1’s Huw Stephens, 1Xtra’s Charlie Sloth, BBC 6 Music and the duo were picked as one of BBC Introducing’s “Hot picks for 2017”. OMYO performed very early on in their career at Wireless Festival on the same bill as Drake, A$AP Rocky & Labrinth. Countless audiences have caught the duo’s set at numerous festivals this summer including the Silverstone Moto GP, headlining Nozstock’s BBC Introducing stage multiple supports with Sugarhill Gang, Soul II Soul and Jocelyn Brown around the UK.

OMYO (pronounced Ohm-Yo) are Tom McCorkell (vocals) and William Edwards (vocals & music) who have been making music together since deciding to follow through on a bet to write a song one New Year’s Eve. Edwards has modelled for magazines like ID, GQ, Vogue, Gay Times & Attitude plus brands like New Look, Nike, Blood Brother and many more. Having found their sound in a mix of infectious synth inspired pop-dance, OMYO’s music has been used in various adverts for New Look, Accessorize and CIFF x Lulu Kennedy.
